Help Daddy to fly safe.

Jess left today for a two week TDY (trip) to Oklahoma city for an advanced instruments course. Before he left, we said a family prayer. T. Jay wanted to say the prayer, so here is an except from that, as best as I could remember it:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for our day. Help us to get dressed nicely. Help Daddy's plane to be safe & that he won't fall out of his chair, if he wears his seat belt he won't. And help his plane to fly the right way to Oklahoma city & when he gets there, help him to land safe on the runway & if he's pointed at the grass, help him to turn so he's not facing the grass and land on the runway..." Isn't that sweet? Funny thing is that Jess is driving to OK!
I might have to rename my blog something like "T Jay Says"!

What's in your brain?

Once Summer starts talking you will get to read funny things about her, but for now you will have to settle for more TJayisms. Lately we have been asking him how he knows or remembers certain things. He always says, "It was just in my brain". For example, tonight at dinner, TJay jumped up from the table and pointed at the nearest smoke detector. He said, "If there is no smoke or fire anywhere close and that is beeping, then that means the battery is dead". Jess asked him how he knew that and he said,"I don't know. It was just in my brain".

"The bright lights are Jesus' robe!"

Here is a great conversation that I had with T. Jay on the way into to town today:

TJay: "Mom, do you know what that bright light is?" (the sun)
Me: " yes, TJay, it's the sun."
TJay: "Nope, that brightness is Jesus' robe. It's really bright and it makes it all light."
Me: "really?"
TJay: "yep, it's Jesus and all of the angel's robes that make it so bright."
*I then tried to explain to him that Jesus was in Heaven with the angels, and the sun gave us our light. I was met with this:
TJay: "Uh huh, because I saw a picture of Jesus at church and his robe was so bright and he was on a cloud and the land was under him! And that's why Jesus' robe is the bright light, it's so bright."

Isn't that cute and funny? It is really fun to listen to his take on things.

Summer the Make-up artist

This is my new favorite picture of Summer. I bought her a small make-up kit from the dollar bin at Target so she could do make-up with me in the mornings. I think that she got a little carried away, but she couldn't be more proud!

The Beginning

I have been contemplating my own blog for a while now. During the last couple of weeks I have really enjoyed reading the blogs of some friends and family and have really enjoyed them. My main objective is to have a place to jot down all of the crazy things that I encounter through life and raising my three kids. There is lots of craziness, and I want to remember as much as I can! So welcome to my new project, maybe you'll learn a little more about me, possibly too much :), and enjoy keeping up.
