Toro- the scapegoat

As you all know, Summer is recently potty trained. She has decided that in addition to toileting on her own, she is also going to take up wiping, although not very good, I might add. It's a good thing she gets a bath daily. Anyway, today she took her underwear off to go to the bathroom and then brought them back to Jess to help her get them back on. He noticed that they weren't the freshest of underwear and asked her, "who left poo in your underwear" to which she quickly replied with ease, "Toro (our cat) did it." Should we be worried that she has already found a scapegoat for all of her troubles so soon?!!!
P.S. This isn't the first time Toro has taken the fall for her, FYI!

T Jay-ism, again!

I am sitting here at the computer, still sweaty from my run, trying to get a post done. T Jay started touching my back and hair. I quickly told him to please not touch me because I was still sweaty. He said," But mom, if I'm touching you , that means I want your attention." followed by a very big grin! Who can refuse that.

I took Matthew to the Dr yesterday morning and he was put on antibiotics because his ears are infected and the cold has moved down into his chest. He seems a little better this morning.
In the afternoon I took Summer in for her follow up appt with the ear, nose and throat Dr. She has her 3rd double ear infection in about 3 or 4 months, so she is scheduled to get tubes put in her ears on July 30th. I am thinking of trying to save myself some time and renting out a room at the hospital! Do you think it would help?!!

Fishing

Last saturday, we went out to our friends house for dinner and fishing. It was a lot of fun. T Jay getting a quick tutorial on the basics of fishing while Summer is trying her hand a rock climbing!
Jess is rekindling his love for fishing!
T Jay helped reel in his first fish. I am not sure who hooked it, but TJay reeled it in. It's a catfish.

July 4th!

Matthew and Daddy. Poor little baby was sick. He had a runny nose, yucky eyes and a temp between 102 and 104 degrees. He still managed to have a good time.
Summer got to play with the big girls all day! She loved it. This is Her with Ali-5. We have a lot of friends named Ali, so we tack the age on to differentiate.
Our July 4th BBQ. We had a great time with our friends.
Matthew loved his turn on the tramp. Yes, I am sure that he was really sick!
I guess T Jay never really stood still to get a picture. He was running around with the "big kids".

T Jay-ism

Jess was trying to eat lunch, and the kids were whining, fighting and arguing. Jess said, "Please don't bother me, I am trying to eat lunch."
TJay tells him,"Daddy, I'm not bothering you. (Summer starts punching him at this point) and TJay continues with "but I am being bothered."

random funny pics

I was coming home from a jog and I saw a trampoline nestled up against a tree behind our neighbor's house. I wondered if that was ours, and when I got home I found that it was. The wind had blown it from the side of our house, around the back and nestled it snugly in the trees behind our house. When we tried to stand it up, it was the shape of a pringle. We decided to keep it upside down until we could figure out what to do with it.
The kids thought this was a great idea! We were able to bend it enough to put it back up again. I am glad that it wasn't totally ruined!
I came to the stairs to find Mr. Matthew heading up the stairs. Apparently he thinks he has super powers that will keep him from bodily harm as he tempts fate!
Hello, baby!!

Golfing

This Friday, Jess got a down day and we played in a tournament as part of a going away for one of his commanders. We haven't played more than a handful of times in the past ten years, but we were reminded how much we enjoy playing. We received the "worst team score" award, which was a bucket of balls for each of us (there were 4 of us). It's a good thing we had so much fun. T Jay came with us because we were pretty sure that he had pink eye. He loved riding on the golf cart. Jess even let him drive! It was great to spend two on one time with him.
He also got a hold of the camera!
T Jay and Daddy.
T Jay is now the proud owner of golf clubs! It was a better deal to buy him the set than to buy him one, which is what I was intending. We spent the whole rest of the afternoon playing golf in the field next to our house. It was great fun. I think that I will let him come with me to practice putting. We have decided to rededicate our efforts to playing golf. It was a great day. In the evening we went to a Caddy shack themed going away dinner. Great fun, and a great day!
